Privacy Policy

Effective date: 12 October 2026

This policy explains what happens to personal information in connection with softmargin.online. The site is a reading-only workbook with no forms, no accounts and no cookies, so there is less to describe here than on most sites. What there is, is described exactly.

Who is responsible, and what this covers

The responsible entity is Drastavela Room s.r.o., registered at Jindřicha Plachty 1139/25, Smíchov, 150 00 Praha 5, Czech Republic, company registration number 29598923. Its email address for all matters covered by this policy is info@softmargin.online. Drastavela Room s.r.o. publishes this site under the name Soft Margin.

Personal information in connection with this site is handled in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, which the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner publishes at oaic.gov.au/privacy/australian-privacy-principles.

This policy covers the domain softmargin.online and the email address above, and nothing else. Links away from this site — the paid links to Crossout described on our Affiliate Disclosure page, and the links to Australian government bodies in the course — lead to sites with their own policies, over which Drastavela Room s.r.o. has no control and no visibility.

The sections below follow the thirteen Australian Privacy Principles in order. Sections not tied to a single principle follow after them.

The thirteen principles, one by one

APP 1 — Open and transparent management of personal information

This document is the policy required by that principle. It is linked from the footer of every page, it is free to read, and it is written to be understood. Drastavela Room s.r.o. keeps its handling practices simple on purpose: a site that collects nothing has little to mismanage.

APP 2 — Anonymity and pseudonymity

You can read every page of this site without identifying yourself. There is nothing to sign up for and no point at which a name is requested. A pseudonymous email address is acceptable for a general question, a correction or a complaint. The exception is a request to access or correct personal information we hold about you: there we may need enough detail to be satisfied we are dealing with the right person.

APP 3 — Collection of solicited personal information

Two categories exist, and no others.

(a) Access logs. Our hosting provider keeps an ordinary server log of requests to the site. Each entry can contain your IP address, the date and time, the URL requested, the referring page if your browser sends one, and your browser's user-agent string. They are generated by the act of requesting a page.

(b) Email. If you write to info@softmargin.online, we receive your email address, whatever name you put on it, the content of your message and any attachment you send.

(c) Nothing else. There are no forms, no enquiry fields and no accounts on this site. There is no newsletter and no sign-up. The checklists do not record which boxes you have ticked, because they are printed shapes rather than controls. There are no cookies, no localStorage, no sessionStorage, no analytics, no advertising tags, no profiling and no cross-site tracking. No web fonts, scripts, images or other resources are loaded from any other server, so while you read these pages your browser contacts no computer except the one serving them. The Cookie Policy sets the same facts out technology by technology.

APP 4 — Dealing with unsolicited personal information

Occasionally an email contains information we did not ask for and do not need in order to reply — details about other people, documents attached by mistake, identity or payment information. Where it is lawful and reasonable to do so, we delete that material rather than keep it, and we do not use it for anything. Please do not send us sensitive information.

APP 5 — Notification of the collection of personal information

This policy is the notification. It names the entity collecting the information, says what is collected, why, how long it is kept, who else may see it, that it may be stored outside Australia, and how to ask for access or correction. No separate notice appears on the site, because there is no point of collection on it: the log entry is created by your request, and an email is written by you.

APP 6 — Use or disclosure of personal information

Access logs are used for three purposes: keeping the site secure, identifying and preventing abuse, and diagnosing faults. Emails are used for one: replying to you and carrying out any request you make. Nothing is used for any other purpose, and personal information from this site is never sold, rented, traded or shared for marketing. The only disclosures that can occur are to the service providers named under APP 8, who process it on our behalf, and to a court, regulator or law enforcement body where the law requires it.

APP 7 — Direct marketing

We do not carry out direct marketing. There is no mailing list, no newsletter and no marketing email of any kind, and no reminders to continue the course — we have no way of knowing that anyone started it. If you write to us, you receive a reply and then nothing further.

APP 8 — Cross-border disclosure of personal information

Two recipients exist. Our hosting provider holds the access logs, and our email service provider holds the mailbox. We use no other processors.

Both providers may store or process data on servers whose location may be outside Australia, including in countries whose privacy laws differ from Australian law. Drastavela Room s.r.o. is itself established in the Czech Republic, so correspondence sent to us is read there. If you would like to know who the current providers are before writing to us, ask and we will tell you.

APP 9 — Adoption, use or disclosure of government related identifiers

This principle has little application here: no government related identifier — a tax file number, a Medicare number, a driver licence number or anything comparable — is adopted as our own identifier, used, or disclosed. We never ask for one.

APP 10 — Quality of personal information

The only personal information we hold that could be wrong is what you have told us in an email. If it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete, tell us and we will correct it. Access logs are machine-generated records of events and are not corrected, since altering them would defeat their purpose.

APP 11 — Security of personal information

The site is served over HTTPS, so the connection between your browser and the server is encrypted. There is no database behind the site and no stored submissions, because nothing is submitted. The hosting account and the mailbox are reachable only by people working for Drastavela Room s.r.o. Information that is no longer needed is deleted in line with the retention periods below. We claim no certification, audit or security standard, because we hold none; what we can say is that the amount of personal information in our hands is deliberately kept very small.

APP 12 — Access to personal information

You may ask what personal information we hold about you. Email info@softmargin.online with Privacy request in the subject line. There is no charge to ask, and we reply within 30 days. The answer is usually short: the correspondence you have had with us, and any log entries still identifiable as yours.

APP 13 — Correction of personal information

You may ask us to correct personal information we hold about you, using the same address and subject line. We reply within 30 days and make the correction where the information is ours to correct. If we disagree, we explain why, and you may ask us to attach a statement of your view to the record.

Affiliate links

When you follow one of the paid links on this site, you leave softmargin.online. From that moment, what happens is governed by the policies of the companies you have arrived at: Crossout's publisher and the affiliate network that operates the link. Those companies may set cookies or use similar technology on their own domains to record that the visit came from us, which is how the commission is attributed.

Drastavela Room s.r.o. receives commission reports from the network and uses them only to reconcile payments. We do not ask for information that identifies individual readers and have no interest in receiving any.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, write to info@softmargin.online. We acknowledge the complaint and answer it in writing within 30 days, saying what we found and what we have done.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can take the complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints, which explains how the OAIC handles privacy complaints and what it can do.

Data breaches

If we become aware that personal information we hold has been lost, or accessed or disclosed without authorisation, we assess what has happened promptly. Where serious harm to any affected person is likely, we notify those people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Children

This site is not directed at people under 16; the course is written for an adult making decisions for a household. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and nothing is collected anywhere on the site that would identify one. If a child has written to us and a parent or guardian would like that correspondence deleted, ask at the address above.

Readers in the European Union, the EEA and the United Kingdom

Drastavela Room s.r.o. is established in the Czech Republic, so the General Data Protection Regulation applies to its handling of personal information as well.

The legal basis for keeping server access logs is our legitimate interests in site security, abuse prevention and fault diagnosis. The legal basis for handling email is the need to respond to your enquiry. There is no consent basis anywhere on this site, because there are no cookies or similar technologies to consent to.

Where the GDPR applies, you have the right to ask for access to your personal information, its rectification or erasure, restriction of its processing, portability of information you provided to us, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Use the email address above; the same 30-day answer applies.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Czech supervisory authority, the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů), Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Praha 7, Czech Republic, at uoou.gov.cz.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top is updated on the day the revision is published. Where a change is material — a new category of information, a new recipient, a new purpose — a short note saying so is shown at the top of this page for 30 days. We do not announce changes by email, having no list to announce them to.
